How categories work

Each public video sits in one category, chosen by its creator at upload. Every category page lists its videos by trending, latest or most watched.

Pick the right category for your upload

Choose the category a viewer would browse to find your video. Pick the closest fit, not the broadest one.

You can set a default category in upload defaults. You can change it later with the quick edit in the studio.

Each category has its own guide

Every category page has tips for its kind of video under the grid. Gaming covers frame rates. Podcasts cover sound levels. The video guides go deeper on hosting, formats and quality.
