Help with safety, reports and copyright

Reporting, moderation, strikes, DMCA and appeals.

Banned.Video keeps the site safe with clear rules and people who enforce them. Anyone can report a video, comment or channel. Every report is read by a person, and automated filters can only hold something for review.

The articles below show how to report something and how strikes and appeals work. They also cover copyright notices, and why some videos play but are not listed.

How moderation works, step by step

  • Something is reported, or a filter holds it for review.
  • A person checks it against the community guidelines.
  • The item stays up, gets a label, is removed, or leads to a strike on the channel.
  • The creator can appeal within 30 days. A different person then looks at the case.

Do you own the copyright? Then use the steps on the Copyright and DMCA page, not the report button. Our editorial policy explains how we keep our own guides accurate.

  • Copyright and DMCA notices

  • Why a video is watchable but not listed

A delisted Banned.Video video still plays by link and embed, but it is not shown in feeds, search or channel pages. It is not a strike.
